Drawing on nearly 25 years of experience supporting dogs and their guardians, I am here to guide you every step of the way — helping you discover your dog's natural abilities, build connection through shared discovery, and grow a calmer, more trusting relationship, one trail at a time.

At Heartful Canine, every session is rooted in emotional wellbeing first. Tracking and trailing isn't about performance — it's a gentle way to connect with your dog's natural instincts, build mutual trust, and enjoy a calm, supportive journey together, wherever you and your dog are starting from.
Every session — taster or ongoing — is built around these three things.

A three-session pathway for dogs and guardians who would benefit from more time developing their skills in a calm, supportive and controlled environment before moving into more varied locations. Each session builds gently on the last, giving you and your dog the time and space to grow in confidence together.
Foundation sessions may be particularly well-suited to more sensitive dogs, or those who would benefit from a slower, more supported progression.

Following their Discovery Trail, teams can continue their scent journey through individual Trust, Track & Trail sessions — exploring different trails, locations and terrain together. Each session is a new adventure, celebrating your dog's natural scenting abilities as you build confidence and connection in a variety of real-world environments.
Sessions are held in a variety of public locations and can be booked individually — there's no course to commit to, just an open invitation to keep following the scent together.
I also offer one-to-one Trust, Track & Trail sessions in carefully chosen, quiet locations, particularly suited to sensitive dogs who may find unfamiliar dogs, people, busy environments or unpredictable situations overwhelming.
Working at their own pace, in an environment where they feel safe and comfortable, allows dogs to relax, focus and discover just how capable they are. That sense of achievement can have a positive impact far beyond the trail itself, helping to nurture confidence, resilience, and trust.
Every session is tailored to the individual, meeting them exactly where they are and supporting them with kindness, patience, and understanding. There is no pressure to perform or rush the process — just time and space for your dog to explore, follow their nose and experience the joy of trailing in a way that feels right for them.

A note on weather: all sessions take place outdoors and are subject to weather conditions. In cases of extreme weather, sessions may need to be rescheduled for the welfare and safety of the dogs. I'll be in touch as early as possible if this is needed.
